This project criticizes the obscene amount of paper and plastic bags that Americans consume.

For this intervention, I designed and hand-crafted custom tote bags. These bags were handed out for free in front of a Ralphs supermarket in Valencia, CA on Earth Day 2007. Shoppers who received the bags were asked to pledge to use them for every shopping trip for at least 6 months.

The simple act of bringing reusable bags to the supermarket prevents the enormous accumulation of waste and pollution from non-reusable bags.
